To intimately experience the Truth of our Being, beyond our limited self-image (this body, these thoughts and emotions, and the roles we play in life), we must be fully committed to shifting our allegiance away from the mind’s rhetoric, to instead maintain a quality of presence anchored in inner stillness. This is what is meant by “You can serve only one master.”  Awakening takes a firm decision because the mind’s duality-based programming is so very strong as are its fear-based attachments…the traps are many.
